YFCA is a leading, Humanitarian, non-Governmental, non-Profit, non-denominational and impartial Organization established in 1976 to improve woman and child health. Dramatic changes in YFCA mandate were introduced gradually to accommodate the emerging needs of women, children, youth and vulnerable groups. From that Health perspective, YFCA programs incorporate wider thematic interventions including WASH, Shelter, and Nutrition, Food Security, Agriculture and Livelihood, Education, Early Recovery and Protection. To pursue its unchanging humanitarian mission, YFCA will thoughtfully continue its expansion process to respond to the ever changing needs of affected communities and vulnerable groups.
Role Purpose:
The CLTS Specialist will be accountable for formulation, design, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of CLTS approach activities to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the approach management, delivery and accomplishment of approach goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Designs and prepares CLTS activities in Al-Hasha and Jehaf districts of Al-Dhale governorate
- Provides support on implementation, monitoring and evaluation of CLTS related activities.
- Reviews the assessment data, bill of quantities, bid analysis, contractor contracts, and overall rehabilitation plans and supervision of works for community based water supply schemes to be linked to CLTS triggered villages.
- Analyses and evaluates data to ensure achievement of objectives and/or takes corrective action where necessary to meet project objectives.
- Participates in meetings with ministries responsible for Environmental Sanitation, Hygiene and Water Quality review, and follows up on implementation of recommendations and agreements.
- Provides regular reports to the project manager including brief monthly Activity Reports detailing activities undertaken and results achieved, and with a brief work plan for the subsequent month including field monitoring.
- Leads and supervises the CLTS staff and provides leadership and technical support as needed, and evaluates direct reports regularly
- Develops working plan, monitoring and evaluation on hygiene promotion activities according to CLTS approach.
- Monitors the process of social mobilization and behavior change communication process, the use of BCC materials and the response from community and government.
- Develops tools and checklist for participatory monitoring success of implementation.
- Identifies gaps and facilitate with communities how to find solutions to address sanitation gaps through community action plans.
- Any other tasks assign by supervisor.
- University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Sanitation Engineering, or a field relevant to international WASH related development assistance.
- Additional training in Health Education or Communication for Development (Programme Communication) is an asset.
- Two years of progressively responsible professional work experience in an NGO or development organization is required.
- Field work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications.
- Background/familiarity with Emergency preparedness and response.
