YFCA deployed an Emergency Mobile Medical Team (EMMT) to Al Azariq district in Yemen’s Ad Dali’ governorate. This initiative is part of the comprehensive Multi-sectoral Emergency Response designed to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable groups in Ad Dali’ and Shabwah Governorates. The project is supported by funding from the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) and in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
Equipped with basic medical equipment, supplies, and essential medicines, the mobile medical team is tasked with delivering life-saving primary healthcare to populations in distant and underserved areas. Operating under an itinerary plan endorsed by the District Health Office, the team offers a range of services, including consultations, treatment, and the distribution of necessary medications.
In its efforts to improve health literacy, the team distributes educational brochures and conducts workshops to disseminate important health messages, thereby enhancing the targeted population’s knowledge on various health-related topics. The team also takes proactive steps to maintain a gender balance among its staff and adapts service delivery to respect and align with local cultural practices.
During July,, the mobile clinic provided services to 558 beneficiaries, highlighting the high demand and the positive impact of this vital initiative.
