MEAL Assistant - Aden

Terms of Reference
 
Division          : MEAL.
Location         : Aden.
Reports to      : MEAL Specialist.

Organization & Background:

A humanitarian, independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that works across Yemen. The organization provides direct assistance for conflict-affected populations, IDPs, host communities and vulnerable groups in the conflict areas. The organization, in partnership with international agencies, takes action during crisis situations, and goes the extra mile to engage in other contexts where its competencies will add value. The organization promotes durable solutions for conflict-affected populations and helps to restore services, education, economic, wellbeing and health.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Carry out regular field monitoring visits to the project interventions for the purpose of evaluating the work progress and reporting any variation comparing to the plan ones before mounting up.
  • Conduct PTMs, monitoring and evaluation exercises and impact assessments when needed.
  • Raise all findings that are spotted while conducting field visits to supervisor without any delay.
Data Collection & Validation
  • Review data bases and data tracking tools of diverse projects to maintain data quality for collating reliable and consistent data which meets minimum reporting requirements of donors.
Learning and Accountability:
  • Establish and manage Complaint and Feedback Mechanism which facilitate beneficiaries/communities to register complaints and share feedback.
  • Assist the project in carrying out preliminary first inquiry report in case of serious nature of complaints filed by trainees.
  • All complaints that are received in the complaint boxes should be raised to the accountability assistant in a timely manner.
Reporting & Analysis:
  • Produce monitoring reports on the given format and reflect all the received figures or conducted activities on the prepared formats. 
  • Monthly analytical reports (Direct observation, and on-site verification on the implementation of programs, post-training monitoring, During Distribution Monitoring).
  • Represent YFCA at program related coordination meetings and similar activities.
  • Work plan and Timelines (including details on development and testing of monitoring tools, regular feedback. Any other key actions that the organization(s) should undertake should also be outlined in the work plan.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills: 
  • University degree or Diploma.
  • One year of relevant professional experience in a similar setting and capacity will be preferred.
  • Experience with participatory methodologies, monitoring and reporting.
  • Good organizational Skills.
  • Capacity to coordinate & relate with other stakeholders & NGOs.
  • Good knowledge of the area of intervention.
  • Skills related to participatory research methods, and computer literacy,
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to the field, under sometimes difficult and occasionally insecure circumstances.
  • Communication skills to operate with a multinational and multilingual team.
