Field SBCC Assistant

Position           : Field Social Behavioral Change and Communication (SBCC) Assistant.
Division            : Programs.
Reports to        : Project Manager/Nutrition Officer.

YFCA is a leading, Humanitarian, non-Governmental, non-Profit, non-denominational and impartial Organization established in 1976 to improve woman and child health.  Dramatic changes in YFCA mandate were introduced gradually to accommodate the emerging needs of women, children, youth and vulnerable groups.  From that Health perspective, YFCA programs incorporate wider thematic interventions including WASH, Shelter, and Nutrition, Food Security, Agriculture and Livelihood, Education, Early Recovery and Protection. To pursue its unchanging humanitarian mission, YFCA will thoughtfully continue its expansion process to respond to the ever-changing needs of affected communities and vulnerable groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • In liaison with the SBCC Officer, support the development and oversee the dissemination of SBCC messages and activities development in accordance with the SBCC project workplan.
  • Assist the SBCC officer to manage, selecting and train the CHVs.
  • A daily following up and tracking biweekly SBCC awareness sessions, and submitting a monthly progress report.
  • Monitor SBCC interventions implemented by project staff and partners, on a daily basis.
  • Actively contribute in the beneficiary’s registration process, provide a supporting to the registration team.
  • Cooperating with SBCC officer, send the monthly requirement reports on the deadlines.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the beneficiary's raised lists.
  • Ensure beneficiary participation, feedback and accountability in all aspects of the project.
  • Coordinate and follow up the monthly community committee, attendance sheet, photos, minutes of meetings…. etc.
  • Contribute in Prepare and implement SBCC regular activities.
  • Following up the CHVs biweekly SBCC activity and ensuring that it’s met with SBCC standards/polices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the community committee and their regular meetings.
  • Monitor SBCC interventions implemented by project staff, on a daily basis.
  • Perform other professional duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health, Food Science and Technology, Development Studies, Sociology or any related studies.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent Computer knowledge – Microsoft office programs and relevant health data base.
  • Ability to multi-task, handle pressure well, flexibility, adaptability to transition.
