Field M&E Assistant -Sana'a

Reports to: MEAL Officer.
 
 
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
 
A humanitarian, independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that works across Yemen. The organization provides direct assistance for conflict-affected populations, IDPs, host communities and vulnerable groups in the conflict areas. Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Officer, the Field Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant is responsible for the provision of effective support on the day-to-day implementation of the project's MEAL plan, activities and deliverables, and contribute to achieving and improving the quality of the project. The field M&E Monitor will support the development of M&E systems, ensuring quality and accountability standards are integrated into the regular MEAL activities. The field M&E Monitor will maintain all data, conduct relevant need assessments, ensure full compliance with rules and regulations for project implementation and develop frequent reports on all project activities.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  1. Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of project results.
  2. Conduct the activities outlined in the project’s MEAL Plan.
  3. Train HF’s focal points on data record and entry of the required statistical datasets.
  4. Sensitize beneficiaries of the complaint and feedback mechanism (CFM).
  5. Make sure that CFM have been set in place through efficient channels.
  6. Responsible of complaints and recommendations receiving, recording and follow-up FCM channels.
  7. Monthly or when required, open the complaint box and provide signed- opening minutes.
  8. In collaboration with the project team, identify and document best practices, challenges and lessons learned.
  9. Assist MEAL Officer in writing findings and lessons learned reports on project innovations.
  10. Preparing monthly M&E report according to work plan reflecting the implementation progress, M&E findings in the project, and challenges.
  11. Conduct monthly field monitoring visits as required using standardized monitoring and evaluation checklists to assess the overall performance of the project activities.
  12. Ensure project indicators are met, meeting beneficiaries to get their feedback about service rendered.
  13. Recommend further improvement of the logical framework.
  14. Provide technical guidance when needed to ensure effective and accurate registration of the statistics in HFs.
  15. Collect, verify, and validate weekly and monthly RH report submitted from HFs.
  16. Provide monthly RH and MCs Reports.
  17. Collect and organize the scanned copy of reproductive health records.
  18. Ensure referral cases database and copies of original referring format are collected and disseminated in a monthly basis.
  19. Any other relevant tasks assigned by MEAL Officer.
 
 
Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in health majors or any other related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within the humanitarian field.
  • Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts, including traveling within the governate of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection, including mobile data collection.
  • Very good in English written and verbal.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent inter-personal, communication and listening skills
  • Strong empathy, understanding of and sensitivity to specific needs of most vulnerable populations
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Attention to details and rigor in field and reporting work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to meet deadlines and high degree of autonomy in his work.
