Organization & Background:
YFCA is a leading, Humanitarian, non-Governmental, non-Profit, non-denominational and impartial Organization established in 1976 to improve woman and child health.  Dramatic changes in YFCA mandate were introduced gradually to accommodate the emerging needs of women, children, youth and vulnerable groups.  From that Health perspective, YFCA programs incorporate wider thematic interventions including WASH, Shelter, and Nutrition, Food Security, Agriculture and Livelihood, Education, Early Recovery and Protection. To pursue its unchanging humanitarian mission, YFCA will thoughtfully continue its expansion process to respond to the ever-changing needs of affected communities and vulnerable groups.
Job Purpose:
 
The Field Monitor is responsible to implement and monitor cash for work activities and provide follow up with the project partners and beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
•           Ensure all accountability policies and procedures, including the operation of YFCA field-level feedback and complaints mechanisms, are adhered to, are fully operational and understood by YFCA MEAL staff and beneficiaries.
•           Further develop and update YFCA’s accountability-related communications and learning materials for both staff and beneficiaries, promoting standardization and common minimum standards of accountability mechanisms for all programs.
•           Support MEAL and program teams to better document and integrate knowledge and learning in their daily activities through the development of appropriate tools, guidance notes and standard operating procedures
•           Take the lead on conducting Baseline, End line Evaluations, Post Distribution Monitoring (PDMs) , Post construction Surveys, beneficiary Satisfaction Surveys, Post Implementation Monitoring and other related household, KII qualitative and quantitative assessments in all relevant locations and modified as per agreement with the MEAL Manager
•           Provide leadership and guidance in survey and assessment process, ensuring the full participation of all YFCA program sectors from planning through data collection to reporting and drawing of conclusions and recommendations.
•           Facilitate the recruitment and training of appropriate survey teams in each field location, training of teams and team supervisors, with the field MEAL Officer.
•           Ensure that all the designed tools, methodologies and other MEAL activities are in line with YFCA and country level strategies, cluster’s guidelines and other humanitarian standards such as CHS and Sphere etc.
•           Ensure that data collection is undertaken in a timely manner having consideration to the ongoing issues around access and security which may be affecting particular locations.
•           Ensure that data analysis and report write up and dissemination is completed and that reports are shared with all relevant staff and externally as required.
•           Ensuring transparent, accurate and timely collection of data by administrating surveys, conducting focus groups of other participatory information collection tools as well as collecting secondary data.
•           Work closely with the MEAL Manager and field MEAL officer for the update of the Project Management Tool (PMT) and identifying the delays/gaps.
•           To carry-out any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned by immediate supervisor within the scope of organizational priority.
•           In conjunction with the Program managers and the MEAL Manager, ensure that each project/grant has a survey and assessment plan in place and included in all proposals and implementation plans.
•           Conduct capacity building trainings (where needed) for the hired MEAL Officers, as well before launching any exercise train field MEAL officers on structed planned methodologies and tools to ensure accurate data collection.
•           Organize and facilitate internal and external learning events and participate in the development of MEAL plans, as well as project kick-off, review and closure meetings.
Education & Experience:

  • University degree.
  • One year of relevant professional experience in a similar setting and capacity will be preferred.
  • Experience with participatory methodologies, monitoring and reporting.
  • Good organizational Skills.
  • Capacity to coordinate & relate with other stakeholders & NGOs.
  • Good knowledge of the area of intervention
  • Skills related to participatory research methods, and computer literacy,
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to the field, under sometimes difficult and occasionally insecure circumstances.
  • Communication skills to operate with a multinational and multilingual team
