Dr. Fares Al-Waeel, YFCA Project Manager of Enhancement of the Reproductive Health for IDPs and Affected Communities Project clarified that this training workshop aims to enhance the capacity building of caregivers in the respective districts of Hajjah. This workshop is part of the activities of the Reproductive Health for IDPs and Affected Communities Project which targets the governorates of Hajja and Amran.
The project aims to support 8 health centers in Hajja which include capacity building for caregivers and provision of basic medications and appliances to the centers.
This training workshop focused on provision of Reproductive Health Services in Emergencies such as antenatal services and distribution of clean-delivery kit.
The trainees were trained on how to provide the services of counseling, family planning and the importance of the home visiting.
Mr. Ahmad Al-Adbaei, YFCA project coordinator in Hajjah, said that the training includes two parts; theoretical and practical. Female trainees went to Mabyan district to conduct home visiting to provide counseling, antenatal and family planning services.
The trainees will be tasked to raise the community awareness in antenatal and family planning services amongst IDPs and hosting communities; and activate the roles of the community volunteers to spread the word amongst people about the services provided and where to go.
