YFCA expressed, in a press release, its gratitude to the members of Yemeni Parliament for their positive voting for the law following a long time of discussions and lobbying in the specialized sub-committees of the Parliament. YFCA also valued the role played by CSOs and forcing groups to advocate for the law.

The Parliament endorsed the draft law of the Safe Motherhood after long discussions for each and every article. This law contains 34 articles divided into seven chapters: introductions, women care before marriage, prenatal, during pregnancy, during delivery, postnatal and penalty legislation.

YFCA has supported the enact of the law through the establishment of the advocacy committee which consisted of members from the relevant authorities which include Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Civil Service, Ministry of Local Administration and couple of CSOs.
