The open day activities include fine arts, songs, theatres, cultural competitions, free gallery for children and viewing a documentary on the mobile cinema about opposing GBV, early marriage and opposing violence against women.

Ms. Sina Al-Khawja, Program Officer of YFCA, stated that the activities of the open day to oppose violence against women coincide with the global day to oppose violence against women; the activities of this event lasted for 16 days.

Ms. Al-Khawja point out that such activities aim to enhance the community awareness towards opposing GBV and the affect of GBV on women, family and society in present and future. YFCA aims to advocate for women’s rights and enhance its status in the society as a key partner in the development.

She added that the Yemeni women enjoy a good status in the society and women become a key partner to make the future of Yemen by their active participation in the National Dialogue Conference (NDC). Ms. Al-Khawja concluded that Yemeni Women enjoy good skills that empower them to play a vital role to serve the country and advocate for the women’s rights.
