Access to safe water is an essential need for everyone around the world, especially in Yemen, and addressing this issue demands global action. To this end, Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) rehabilitated the Nisab Downtown water asset in Nisab district of Shabwah Governorate in January 2023. They supplied, installed, and operated a solar system with a motor and submersible water pump and all its accessories, as well as covering the well with protection walls. A chlorine injection device was also installed, providing safe access to clean water to 3,500 beneficiaries. This activity is part of a project funded by German Humanitarian Assistance (AA) and Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH) to develop access to safe, sustainable drinking water and reduce water-related epidemics and diseases in six districts of Shabwah Governorate-Yemen.
