YFCA is taking measures to protect natural water sources from contamination and stop water-borne diseases from spreading to the Yemeni population. In collaboration with General Authority for Rural Water and Sanitation Project (GARWASP), National Water Sanitation Authority (NWSA), and the health offices of Shabwah Governorate, YFCA conducted 30 tests at the household level with Water Quality Volunteers (WQV) and 5 water samples from different community sources. The samples were sent to the lab for physical, chemical and biological analysis, and the results will be used to suggest suitable processing methods. This activity is part of the ongoing WASH and humanitarian food assistance project funded by German Humanitarian Assistance (AA) and Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH). The goal is to provide safe drinking water access to the people in the targeted districts of Shabwah Governorate.
