September 11^th-15^th, 2022, YFCA’s health focal point attended a workshop on the national strategy for maternal and child health, and midwifery organized by the Ministry of Public Health and Population. The main objective of the workshop is to discuss the strategic directions of the national health system and analyzed the current situation of the health sector, generally, and the health of mothers, newborns and midwifery, particularly. Moreover, the priorities of the gaps’ referring were reviewed in accordance with the requirements of the strategies for maternal and child health and midwifery along with the executive framework for them. As well as emphasizing the importance of build the capacities of the midwives within the vision (midwives in each village).
 
The workshop was vital as the participants were divided into groups to analyze the health situation in relation to mothers, newborns and midwifery defined by the strategy in the framework of the construction of a modern Yemeni State.
 
At the end of the workshop, the efforts of the participants from different humanitarian organizations and entities were honored by Dr. Najib Al-Qubaty, Undersecretary of MoPHP for the Population Sector and Zainab Al-Badawi, Director General of Mother and Newborn Health, MoPHP. The workshop was conducted in coordination between MoPHP and the specialized partners to come up with goals that serve the health of mothers, newborns and midwifery health services.
