Organized by the Global Network Against Food Crises and the High-Level Task Force on Famine Prevention, the joint Roundtable gathering of leaders from the UN and NGOs across the world took place on September 12, 2022 to discuss how to fight the global food crisis.
Mr. Mohanna Eljabaly, YFCA’s Associate ED, delivered through this global gathering a statement about YFCA’s perspective regarding the reason for the reoccurrence of famine and the gaps in the responding approaches, along with supportive and effective suggestions to address this current issue.
“In Famine, the suffering that women have to be highlighted especially that in some cases husbands or fathers are absent due to different reasons. These women are in acute need for sociological support to help them to stay strong as they are having a fight that is more brutal than the ones in the conflict frontlines.”
