Conducted a hygiene promotion training course for 50 Community Hygiene Volunteers (CHVs) in Shabwah governorate.

Community Volunteers are playing important role in sensitizing the population and communities by lifesaving sanitation and hygiene practices to eliminate contagious illnesses.

From that standpoint, Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) conducts a training course on hygiene promotion approach for 50 Community Hygiene Volunteers (CHVs) in Ataq district, Shabwah governorate.

Where ten volunteers (five females and five males) were selected from five targeted districts (Ursaylan, Beyhan, Markha Al-Sufla, Nisab, Jardan) in Shabwa Governorate, and they were trained on the hygiene promotion approach and how to conduct sessions for households and communities by delivering crucial messages of hygiene.

This activity is considered one of the activities for the project of WASH and humanitarian food assistance for IDPs, host communities, returnees, and marginalized groups in six districts of Shabwah Governorate-Yemen, which is funded by the German Federal Foreign Ministry (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).

This training aims to:
• Enhance volunteers' capacities and skills on how to raise households and communities’ awareness by conducting hygiene sessions.
• Increase the knowledge and understanding of volunteers' with modern ways and approaches that will help them during the sessions.
• Encourage volunteers' to contribute in eliminating all the common diseases that are transmitted through impurity, pollution and the negative environmental practices.
• Contribute in creating a clean environment and how to maintain it.
