The water quality surveillance is one of the activities implemented by YFCA and funded by YHF in Damt - district of Al-Dhale Gov. This implementation was conducted under the framework of the durable provision of sustainable, safe potable and domestic water in IDPs sites, host communities and the most vulnerable hosting individuals including PWD in Damt, Marib city and Alwadi districts.
This activity was implemented through two main practices. Conducting water quality surveillance for the water sources to assure water quality. This type of practice happens through conducting regular water testing including PH, Turbidity and Bacteriological Analysis to community water sources. Samples to be taken on a monthly basis from each water community source and tested at LWSC labs in central labs. The second type is the random household test samples. This type was started by trained water quality monitors and volunteers to regularly test water quality at HHs level using a water testing measurement tool.
YFCA water quality monitors visited the targeted areas to do the household's random samples tests and recorded the results of the tests on the HHs water test forms using water multi-hand testing devices (PCTS testers) which were provided to them by YFCA. Additionally, samples will be taken on a monthly basis from each water community source and tested at LWC labs of the central labs. In April 2022, one water test was conducted for Haql Alfarid No.2 well at Almassanah, Damt district.
