YFCA completed the repair and rehabilitation of Al-Hanak well in Nisab district - Shabwah Governorate in order to provide safe drinking water.

Access to safe water is an absolute necessity for everyone around the world, especially in Yemen, and taking on the issue of ensuring access to safe water requires worldwide effort.

Therefore, Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) has repaired and rehabilitated the Al-Hanak well in the Nisab district of Shabwah Governorate by supplying, installing, and operating the solar system with a motor and submersible water pump, including all accessories, as well as covering the well with protection walls, and also rehabilitating the two engine rooms and installing a chlorine injection device that works with the solar system to ensure that the beneficiaries have safe access to clean water, and the number of beneficiaries from this well is about 9000 beneficiaries.

Within the project of WASH and humanitarian food assistance for IDPs, host communities, returnees and marginalized groups in six districts of Shabwah Governorate-Yemen, which is funded by German Foreign Ministry (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH) (German Humanitarian Assistance Organization).

This activity is aimed to:
- Developing access to safe and sustainable drinking water for the people in the targeted district.
- Effective contribution to reducing the spread of water-related epidemics and diseases.
