Announcing The Starting of The Cash-for-Work Activity Abyan governorate

Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) announced the start of the cash-for-work activity on Monday morning, 01/24/2022 in Jabal al-Hubbush area, Khanfar district, Abyan governorate, affiliated to the livelihoods project, which consists of two main activities; cash-for-work and vocational training within Food Security and Livelihood sector (FSL) interventions. Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), in coordination with the local authorities in the governorate.
Beneficiaries started on Saturday, 22/1/2022, after they were registered according to Food Security and Agriculture Cluster's criteria (FSAC). Their compliance with the standards were verified through a verification team during project period.
The Director of Irrigation Adminstration in Abyan Governorate, M. Abdullah Tubiq expressed his thanks and appreciation to YFCA for its positive interventions in various fields of services to the local community, hoping such interventions continue for the community, particularly during the circumstances the country is facing.
He also explained the importance of the CFW intervention as it targets 3 sites that represent a center for several branches of irrigation channels in Jabal al-Hubbush area that extending at Khanfar district level, in addition to the Gabions construction that will adjust the flow of rain and floods and protect the neighboring villages from damages.
Project Assistant Mr. Hussein Abdulhabib illustrated all project details in terms of intervention type, assistance provided in addition to the located sites of intervention based on the local authorities' nominations (Gabion Construction of 970 m3 and two irrigation channels cleaning from trees and sediments obstructing the channels, that will last for (4) months.
The project engineers continued to educate the beneficiaries about safety guidelines and the mechanism for implementing the work as required, with the help of representatives of the Livelihood Assistance Committee that was formed at the beginning of the project.
Not to forget mentioning that the other activity will provide (270) Households with vocational training; (170) tailoring training and (100) hairdressing training during (3) consecutive months, with a project total targeting caseload of (900) Households through a group of interventions that benefit Khanfar District community, in Abyan Governorate.
