Living in camp in Yemen presented daily challenges for Khalid, a 28-year-old man, his wife, and their three young children. As IDPs, they had been struggling to make ends meet and provide for their basic needs. Before the intervention by YFCA, their living conditions were dire, lacking basic necessities like enough mattresses, blankets, and kitchen sets, which made daily life incredibly difficult. Thanks to the support of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, YFCA was able to provide Non-food Items (NFI) kits to IDPs in Marib Governorate, including Almanin Alqebli camp. The NFI kits included critical items such as mattresses, blankets, and kitchen sets. For Khalid and his family, this basic intervention was life-changing. For the first time in years, each targeted family’s member had their own mattress and blanket, allowing them to get a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling refreshed. The kitchen sets were also a significant help for Khalid’s wife, providing her with the tools she needed to cook meals for her family.
