Due to harsh obstacles internally displaced people (IDPs) was experiencing; such as the harsh desert environment, insufficient infrastructure, and the inaccessibility to basic needs, assisting them was of utmost necessity. YFCA was deeply moved when seeing such fragile people in need for help; as a result, it was determined to bring about much-needed change and reach out to them with the assistance needed. Moreover, in response to the spread of epidemics due to the lack of health, education, and guidance facilities in the area, YFCA organized awareness campaigns to help educate IDPs in Alwadi district, Marib governorate, about the factors that caused disease outbreaks, types of diseases, the severity of diseases, and methods of prevention. Furthermore, those awareness campaigns covered essential topics such as water sanitation, hygiene, and utilization; in addition to first aid methods and preventive steps in the event of an outbreak of any disease. Zooming in to the IDPs’ camps in Alwadi’s district, Saba’s struggling family was realized. A widow with seven children, five young boys and two little girls, living in a destitute state in camps. In spite of the difficult circumstances she faces, she strives to provide her family with essential necessities for housing, clothing, and food. Saba desperately said holding her little girl in the arms, “We suffer immensely due to an inadequate supply of housing, diseases outbreaks, and the hardships of life in the desert as a solitary parent. It is overwhelming, and it is a significant battle for us to endure. Yet, we have hope that all of this suffrage will reach an end.”
