Through War & Cholera: People of Al- Mahwait.

Humanitarian stories # 2

As part of Project #6271, Funded by YHF/OCHA and Implemented by YFCA in Al Mahwait Governorate, YFCA communication team met Fatima at one of our Cholera kits distribution points in Bait Qatina, Al-Tawilah district in Al- Mahwait . Fatima, a woman in her late fifties is a mother of seven children, three boys and four girls two of whom are of special needs due to their disability.

“I came to receive a cholera kit today, I felt ill about a week ago, I felt a sudden pain in my stomach, followed by vomiting and acute diarrhea…
I wasn’t the only one who felt sick, one of my disabled daughters went ill too. We were rushed to the Diarrhea Treatment Center for a day. The YFCA medical team took very good care of us. May Allah bless them all”
“I came to receive the Cholera kit so that I can prevent anyone else in my home from falling ill. It was a terrible experience and I do not want any of my children to go through the same suffering of mine.
