FAQs

1. My child plays football at his junior high school. Can my child play at school and on your league?

Yes. It is acceptable now for players to play at school and for the Tigers.

Players participating in “School Ball” must be certified with the league as a “school ball” player.  School Ball Players must be identified at the time of league certification and tracked on the game outcome report during the season. A “school ball” player is a student that has dressed out in uniform with the team (a student may be in athletics without being ON the team).

Any child who is participating in a school affiliated football program will have to participate in 7 regular season games to be eligible for playoffs; NO exceptions.  School ball players must have the opposing coach sign the game outcome report verifying they played the game.

2. My child is 4 years old and wants to play football. Can he play on the Flag team for 5 and 6 year olds?

Yes. A four year old can play on the Flag team if the team coach feels he/she is ready and there is room on the team. In fact, generally a younger child can play on a higher age team but an older child cannot play on a younger age team.

3. When does the 2012 season officially start?

Our 2012 season will begin sometime in July. The season usually ends in late October to mid-November.

4. Are there any discounted registration fees?

Yes, we will post our "Early" Registration dates on this website but they will most likely be in May and June. During Early registration, the registration fees are slightly discounted. Also, when there is more than one child enrolled in the league (football or cheerleading), there is a discount on the registration fees.

5. When are the games?

All games are played on Saturdays. Flag plays at 10am. Bantam plays at 11:30am. Juniors play at 1:30pm. Seniors play at 3:30pm. These are set times unless changed due to a special event(i.e Homecoming) The official schedule hasn't posted yet. We will notify parents as to any changes as it is available.

6. Where are the games and practices held?

Practices are held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm - 8pm at our home field at Don Showman Memorial Park in Farmers Branch (Valwood Parkway at Heartside). This is where all home games are played. We will post the address and directions of away games on the homepage.

7. I have more than one child playing, is there a discount on the registration fees?

Yes. It is $10 off of each additional sibling's registration fees.

8. If I register early is there a discount on the registration fees?

Yes, register and pay in full before 7/10/12 and you can take $10 off of the registration fees unless another discount was already applied.

9. What does the registration fee include and are there any additional costs?

For football players, the registration fee includes the cost of the uniform pants, uniform jersey, mouth pieces, socks, and trophies. The player can keep the jersey and uniform pants. A $50 deposit is required for equipment (7 peice pads, shoulder pads, helmet). All equipment must be returned at the end of the season to get back your deposit. Players are responsible for obtaining their own cleats.

For cheerleaders, the registration fee includes uniform, pom poms, shoes, bag, bow and trophies.

All children must either participate in a fundraiser and sell $150 or more OR select the buyout option and pay $75 upfront. The fundraiser helps with many of the costs that aren't covered by the registration fees.

The 2012 registration fees are:

 $80 before 7/10/12 and $100 after 8/16/2012 for Flag

$170 before 7/10/2012 and $200 after 8/16/2012 for Tackle ***
