Hajjah /Visit of the two health centers in the districts of Mahabesha and Mabyan

Project No. (4220) to provide integrated health services (health - nutrition - water and sanitation).
Duration of the project: from 1/1/2017 to 31/10/2017.
Target Areas: Al Mahabsha and Mabin, Hajjah, and Mnabah, Qataf and Al-Saqqa areas.
Project Sponsor: United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
Implementing and supervising the project: Yemeni Family Care Association.

The Health Center is located in the village of Bani Asad near the center of the Directorate and provides free health services (checkup, treatment and birth delivery) to 39,000 inhabitants of villages and neighboring isolation in the areas of public health, reproductive health, motherhood, childhood and malnutrition receiving minimum of sixty cases a day.
The Medical Center is located in the Directorate of Mabin in the framework of the hospital of Mneif Al-Rifi and provides free services to about 70 thousand inhabitants and is witnessing a heavy demand as it is the only hospital in the region.
The medical staff consists of a doctor, a midwife and a nurse. The nutrition team consists of a physician, a midwife and a nurse.
In addition to their work, the health staff at the two centers regularly conduct field visits to villages and areas away from the health centers three days a week, in addition to carrying out awareness campaigns for the importance of hygiene and providing advice and health guidance through community awareness committees consisting of 20 female volunteer and five male volunteer. This comes within the framework of the supervision of the Yemen Family Care Association to reach the largest number of beneficiaries, especially the poor and those who do not have the financial means to reach the center.
The project also included the rehabilitation of water and sewage networks in both centers, the provision of new water reservoirs with high quality specifications and continuous water supply to both centers.
